An essential starter for Ex Pat and In Pat payroll

This practical course has been designed to gently lead payroll and HR staff into how they correctly deal with employees going to work overseas or coming to the UK to work.

This course is an essential starter for anyone having dealings with workers moving from the UK to work abroad or coming to the UK to work.

The course programme will explain the different rules for RTI reporting for Expats and In-pats and will address the issues relating to the operation of PAYE and deduction of Class 1 National Insurance contributions, plus the rules for statutory payments.

It will explain what information is required when an employee comes to work in the UK for the first time or is returning to the UK after an assignment abroad and when a P85 (leaving the UK) needs to be completed.

The changes in the UK rules on tax residence, including the application of the new Statutory Residence Test and the changes in HMRC guidance for overseas employees will also be covered.

The latest guidance from the Home Office regarding pre employment checks will be looked at, identifying the requirements for work permits and restrictions that apply to some workers from certain EEA countries.
